Videoraptor FAQ

1. I receive this error during installation: 'The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package'. What do I do?

Please make sure that your Windows has all the latest(relevant to your system) updates installed.

Please also make sure that VBScripting is not switched off in your browser (Set the security settings in Internet Explorer -> Extras -> Internet options -> Security level-> Medium-high)

This error also occurs if the script is unable to initialize an ActiveX object (in this case the Wscript.Shell object) during runtime.

To resolve the problem, follow these steps:

a) In Windows XP:
Go to Windows Start->Run and type:

   regsvr32 wshom.ocx
   regsvr32 scrrun.dll

If the above does not help, or if you receive an error message when running the two commands above, then you may need to reinstall Windows Script 5.6 from Microsoft site. The download link is given below for Windows 2000 and XP systems:

Download Windows Script 5.6

b) For Vista:

Go to Windows Start->All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as Administrator. Type:

regsvr32 wshom.ocx
regsvr32 scrrun.dll
regsvr32 vbscript.dll

  (In 64-Bit
regsvr32 C:\windows\SysWOW64\vbscript.dll)

Now please try the installation again.

3. Why can’t I download a web clip from my favorite website?

Videoraptor supports downloading from those websites, which are listed under the Surf & Catch tab. You should be able to download all videos hosted by these websites, except for 3rd-party videos. You can identify such a 3rd-party video by checking its URL address (it differs from the host website you were browsing). Also, if clicking a video opens a new website, you are dealing with a 3rd-party video.

4. I can not play some videos. What must I do?

Your media might not have the appropriate codecs installed to view this
content.
We recommend that you install one of these players to view the videos
downloaded by Videoraptor:
Gom: http://www.gomplayer.com/main.html
VLC: http://www.videolan.org

5. What is Parental Control?

To avoid under-age children from watching or downloading adult content listed in Videoraptor, the Surf & Catch view provides a feature called Parental Control: You can prevent the category Erotic Videos from being displayed in Videoraptor. Click Parental Control to enable the feature. A popup window will ask you to enter and confirm a password of your choice. You will need this password to disable parental control.

To disable parental control, go to Options › Network and Security and click Disable Parental Control. A small popup window will ask you for your password.

Please note that the section Erotic Videos is not available in our boxed-sets, to prevent under-age children that purchase the boxed-sets, from direct access to adult content through VideoRaptor.
